Jen Cooper-Wells is the North Shore Academy Elementary principal in Illinois. She started her career 25 years ago as a science teacher in CPS to inspire, encourage, and provide opportunities to marginalized youth. Over the years, Jen wanted to positively impact more students, so she became a school counselor and then an instructional coach to design curricula resources aligned to standards. She earned her PhD grounded in the effects of COVID on social emotional competencies. Jen uses technology to deliver SEL webinars, increase family communication, and most importantly empower diverse learners to share their voice.

Lindsay Foster has two decades of educational experience as an elementary classroom educator, a technology applications instructor, and as an instructional technology coach. Purpose & objective

Introduce educators to the untapped potential of Canva as a tool for creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Familiarize participants with prompt engineering necessary to use generative AI within Canva.

Objectives:
Participants will:
Be exposed to generative AI tools built into Canva
Practice creating using AI tools to generate learning products
Download and share results in a digital collaborative platform.
Apply skills learned to various curriculum content areas
Discuss how AI skills are transferable across various platforms and tools

10 Minutes: Introduce the following Canva tools: Magic Write. Magic Edit. Magic Eraser. Create an Animation.
10 Minutes: Creation 1. Participants create using the introduced tools.

10 Minutes: Creation 2. Participants create using a different tool.
