Preparation details: Participants will work in small groups to create videos in the hands on portion of the workshop, therefore not all participants will need their own devices. If available, participants should bring a digital camera (w/video capability) and laptop or a mobile device with built in camera.

Douglas has been helping students develop meaningful relationships with media and develop professional media creation skills for over a decade. He has pioneered the media art program at Science Leadership Academy since 2009; founded the nonprofit Rough Cut Productions out of the classroom for students to gain professional media production experience, and cofounded Rough Cut Schools to help foster media literacy and media creation programming in schools. Douglas earned his M.A.T in media art and history from the Creative Center for Teaching at Bennington College (2008), and has been teaching in Philadelphia public schools ever since.Douglas has been helping students develop meaningful relationships with media and develop professional media creation skills for over a decade. Josh teaches Digital and Information Literacy and STEAM at Friends' Central School in Wynnewood, PA. He also is the Academic Technology Coordinator for the Upper School. Josh updated the Photography curriculum and studio to create the school's Media Lab for the creation of a variety of media including animation, video, and audio recording. He has taught students about design and design thinking as advisor of the stage crew andSTEAM program, and has developed and taught a course for students to explore the relationship between media and society. Josh is the co-founder of Rough Cut Schools.
