Purpose & objective
To gather feedback and buy-in on what should be reflected in the refresh ISTE Standards for Teachers and what ISTE should consider during this refresh. Participants will get to lay the key groundwork for the 2017 ISTE Standards for Teachers, which will shape the teaching profession as well as approaches to supporting and training teachers (effecting coaches, trainers, teacher educators, administrators). This will be an interactive session, most of the time spent in small group discussion and brainstorm activities. It provides a unique connection to ISTE as well as a vibrant networking and professional learning opportunity.

We will examine the current teacher standards and work via small group activities to determine what should be changed to reflect the current and future state of education. (approx. 1 hour)
We will address at a high, "teaser" level the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students (being unveiled the following morning) and brainstorm ways the two sets of standards could and should work support each other. (approx. 20 min.)
Schedule includes 10 min. for intros, wrap-up, and misc. logistics.
