All too often, educators implement technology into their classrooms and schools without a clear, compelling vision for its use. As a result, little or nothing really changes in terms of the learning interaction for students. We'll take a look at how to build a vision that transforms, not just digitizes, learning.

Purpose & objective
*Participants will understand the limitations of most current technology implementations in schools.
*Participants will discuss best practice examples of mission and vision statements that deal specifically with technology integration for learning.
*Participants will learn a framework/structure for creating mission and vision statements for using technology.
*Participants will understand how to best articulate and communicate mission and vision to create culture of learning and support in school community.
45 minutes - Changing contexts: Through presentation and discussion, participants will understand modern contexts for technology and learning.
30 minutes - Evaluation in small groups of examples of current mission and vision statements.
60 minutes - A framework for change. Through presentation and discussion, participants will be guided through a process for writing and communicating mission and vision statements.
45 minutes - Work/ discussion/process time.
