Volunteer Champions

Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the ISTE Conference. Volunteer Champions will complete four-hour shifts on two days or one eight-hour shift on one day of the conference. Volunteer Champions need to complete each shift in order to receive a registration fee refund.

Champions are dedicated attendees who are willing to volunteer 10 hours of their time before and during the conference in exchange for a registration refund. We regret that we may not be able to utilize every applicant.

Volunteer Champions will not only guide attendees as they navigate the conference, but they also act as a resource to fellow volunteers.

Prior to the conference, Volunteer Champions will:

  • Attend a virtual orientation in early June.
  • Read materials and FAQs provided by the volunteer coordinator and prepare to accurately answer attendee questions.
  • Download and learn the basic functionality of the conference app.

At the conference, Volunteer Champions will:

  • Volunteer eight to ten hours at the conference.
  • Prior to shift(s), attend a one-hour onsite training.
  • During shift(s), be aware of nearby activities and help orient volunteers in their stations at the beginning of each shift.

Volunteer Champions will have:

  • An enthusiastic, friendly and approachable attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to help attendees navigate the conference using mobile technology.

Volunteer Champion applications are now closed.
