ISTE is welcoming start-ups to its show floor with two exciting and unique opportunities exclusively for start-up* companies — the Edtech Start-Up Pavilion and the Start-Up Pitch Fest!
ISTE 2017 is the premier venue for showcasing edtech products and services to a highly targeted audience of tech-savvy educators and education leaders. Our expansive expo hall will put your innovative ideas on full display before more than 15,000 educators, 5,000 edtech industry representatives, venture capitalists, government officials and other leaders in the education market.
Conference attendees spend an average of six hours exploring the expo hall. This year, the Edtech Start-Up* Pavilion will be booming with 42 unique start-up companies. The pavilion, Booth #2132 in the expo hall, is located in a high-traffic area that provides ample room for start-ups to interact and network with conference attendees.
Start-Up Exhibitor Package: $1,000***.
Total package is valued at more than $3,000.
*ISTE will determine each company’s eligibility for a space in the pavilion based on criteria established by ISTE that includes, but is not limited to, number of employees, years in existence, market status (pre-launch, pilot, etc.), company revenue and the range of products represented in the pavilion.
**Structure images are preliminary designs of the pavilion and individual demonstration pods and are accurate representations at this time. Final designs of the overall pavilion and/or demonstration pods may differ.

ISTE is proud to announce the fouth annual Edtech Start-Up Pitch Fest at ISTE 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. ISTE is partnering with Edmix to organize and manage the Pitch Fest. Edmix is a London-based organization that connects stakeholders in education and learning technology to help educators build links into the digital industry, develop student understanding, raise student digital aspirations and develop attainment through technology.
Preliminary rounds: Pitch Fest Stage, Exhibit Hall, Booth #2142
In each round, six companies will have five minutes to present, then 2-3 minutes to answer questions from the judges.
Of the six companies presenting in each round, two will be selected to go on to the Pitch Fest final!

Each company in the final round will have five minutes to present and 2-3 minutes to answer questions from the judges.
A different panel of judges will be seated for each round, including the final round. Judges are selected from a broad range of backgrounds in education, education technology and entrepreneurial endeavors. Judges’ feedback will be limited to questions asked of the participants and any comments made after each presentation.
Each round will include audience voting. The audience vote will count for 30 percent, and the judges’ votes will count for 70 percent of the final score that determines which of the six companies from each round will advance to the finals and then which ones will be declared the winners.
Two winners will be selected from the finalists: Most Likely to Succeed and Most Innovative. Each winner will be awarded a prize package.
Who can apply for Pitch Fest?
All ideas and start-up businesses are welcome to submit an application for participation in the Pitch Fest, whether your idea is at the concept stage, it’s in pilot or your company is already in the early stages of start-up. We welcome all innovations, from anywhere in the United States or around the world, and every submission has the same chance of winning.
How will the Pitch Fest participants be selected?
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel including representatives from ISTE, Edmix and other organizations selected by ISTE that are involved in education and the edtech marketplace. The panel will invite 12 companies to participate in the Pitch Fest preliminary rounds.
Application submission deadline: Friday, April 28, 2017
You have until Friday, April 28, to create and upload a short application detailing your business idea. Try to get your submission in as early as possible — don’t join the last-minute rush of entries. Late submissions will not be considered.
Notification of selection: No later than Friday, May 19, 2017
If your idea is selected, congratulations! You will be assigned to a preliminary round. Edmix will let you know in which of the two preliminary sessions you will be presenting.
Please note: All travel and related expenses for participation in the Pitch Fest are the responsibility of the participating companies. Companies selected for the Pitch Fest will receive up to three complimentary exhibits-only passes for Monday and Tuesday.
