Develop a sequence of activities that model classroom learning with the Apple, Google and Maker ecosystems. Get hands-on with these curriculum-integrated topical sessions.

iTools for Educators

Create new content and instructional materials for your lessons (K-12 and higher ed) or design materials for administrators on the iPad during this full-day immersion into designing curriculum using the Apple ecosystem. Learn to build courses, make presentations, create interactive books and develop projects using app workflows with a collection of Apple tools. Choose between a general overview, hopping from station to station, or stick to one and dive deep to create robust content. Leave with a solid start to redeveloped curriculum materials under the guidance of Apple Distinguished Educators. Novice to advanced iPad users are invited.

ISTE Trailblazer Academy

Ignite your inner trailblazer during this full-day, high-intensity academy offering three strands to meet any innovation level. This academy will help you reach your goals, whether you’re just getting started or an established leader in your community.

Level 1: Learning to blaze your trail
You’ll learn about the Chrome browser, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Slides, Spreadsheets, Forms and more and will be ready to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.

Level 2: Becoming an ISTE trailblazer
Engage in hands-on activities to enhance your digital footprint and share your educational journey. You’ll create a digital profile in preparation to apply for select recognition programs, such as the Google Education Innovator and Apple Distinguished Educator.

Level 3: Sharing your trailblazer story
For veteran trailblazers who want to take their craft to the next level, this strand will help you refine your story to share with others as a new or enhanced keynote. Existing speakers will sharpen presentation skills and reflect on new ways to inspire others. From sketchnoting to publication and stories from former ISTE keynoters, this session will offer a space for the veteran innovators to work with others with similar goals.

Makerspaces with Impact: Integrating Core Content, Creativity and Imagination

Want to start your own maker program or take your existing space to the next level? Experience a variety of maker stations and discuss best practices, budgeting, how/when to assess, connecting with content standards, and getting administrative buy-in with a panel of experienced educators who have implemented this and work with students who lead the maker movement on their campuses. You will leave with detailed ideas for creating more than 10 different stations to engage students, from no-tech to high-tech. Hosted by TCEA.
