Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

“We believed F2F time with tech experts should not be spent learning how to use tech. Instead it should be focused on the implementation of learning activities that are transformed by the integration of tech.” -Kristen Daniels, co-creator of FlippedPD.

This session documents the journey of a tech specialist’s quest to flip PD allowing herself to become what teachers needed most – an instructional technology coach. This put coaches next to teachers during the lesson planning process & throughout the implementation of a digital tool - leaving the instructional "how-to" of a tool to digital content that could be viewed on their own.

The session is two-fold as it is designed to (1) provide trial & error testimonials along with a (2) a step-by-step guide to creating an engaging, interactive & tech rich PD that will promote active learning with staff.

Participants will leave with digital tools for real-time collaboration, knowledge of how to gain teacher buy-in before the PD session, & more.
