Thinking of flipping your iPad-using classroom? Do it with interactive videos on Touchcast! This presentation focuses on how to structure your video, how to use Touchcast to do it, and provides some time to get started.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The objective of this presentation is to get folks started with the awesome video editor Touchcast as a way to present content in the classroom. We focus in on both structure options for the flipped classroom and what needs a teacher will have for it. Then we move to really getting down into Touchcast as a way to present content. To get folks started on Touchcast, they can either watch a demo or use an online guide to drill down into it on their own. Hopefully, this will give them a great idea on how to do content differently than the traditional sit and get.


What is the flipped classroom?- When you talk buzzwords there are always so many definitions! This section focuses in on what we feel the flipped classroom is

Somewhere between the flip and traditional…- We advocate a mix between flipped and traditional, and this section focuses on the reasons for that

How do I flip?- Before you talk tools you have to talk strategy and pedagogy. This section focuses on on that,

What is Touchcast?- Before we delve deep, we have to understand what Touchcast actually is. This section focuses in on that

Demo/Play- This section gives attendees two options: they can either follow along with me through a demo, or they can use the online guide to get started on their own. The idea is to let them personalize their needs a bit in order to ensure success!

Tips and Tricks- After you have the base, you have to make them great. This section focuses in on how to do that

Supporting research

Blended and online learning has vast research out there showing the benefits and so does student creation. This gives attendees a way to do it in an organized, easy, quick, and beautiful manner which means it meets the research.
