“Incredible” trainers and coaches, uncover the hidden powers and abilities of innovative professional development practices. Come discover facilitation techniques and strategies to thwart villains that make conventional meetings monotonous and mundane. Accept this challenge and make immersive learning challenges, game-based learning, personalized learning paths and more your PD sidekicks.

Purpose & objective

Traditional professional development does not model best instructional practices that teachers need to experience in order to understand their value and transfer to classroom practice.

Trainers and coaches will explore a variety of innovative facilitation techniques and strategies.
-Breakout EDU: Immersive Learning Challenges incorporate collaboration, problem-solving, and higher-level thinking to reach a common goal.
-Gamification: Content-infused, game-based learning with badging at various levels increases learner motivation and engagement.
-Personalized learning paths: Determined by participants’ interests, needs, and desired outcomes.
-Collaborative learning structures: Effectively scaffold cooperative problem-solving.
-Blended delivery options: Maximize benefits of face-to-face and virtual formats.

Coaches and trainers will have the tools to incorporate innovative methods for facilitating adult learning experiences.


Session will be modeled through digital game-board approach.

Identify purpose/outcomes and activate prior knowledge/experiences. (10 minutes)
Navigate and explore facilitation techniques/strategies (superpowers) as you pass each gamification level. (25 minutes)
Correlate each strategy to specific trainer/coach superpower. (20 minutes)
Set individual goals for super power transfer. (5 minutes)
