Traditional professional development does not model best instructional practices that teachers need to experience in order to understand their value and transfer to classroom practice.
Trainers and coaches will explore a variety of innovative facilitation techniques and strategies.
-Breakout EDU: Immersive Learning Challenges incorporate collaboration, problem-solving, and higher-level thinking to reach a common goal.
-Gamification: Content-infused, game-based learning with badging at various levels increases learner motivation and engagement.
-Personalized learning paths: Determined by participants’ interests, needs, and desired outcomes.
-Collaborative learning structures: Effectively scaffold cooperative problem-solving.
-Blended delivery options: Maximize benefits of face-to-face and virtual formats.
Coaches and trainers will have the tools to incorporate innovative methods for facilitating adult learning experiences.
Session will be modeled through digital game-board approach.
Identify purpose/outcomes and activate prior knowledge/experiences. (10 minutes)
Navigate and explore facilitation techniques/strategies (superpowers) as you pass each gamification level. (25 minutes)
Correlate each strategy to specific trainer/coach superpower. (20 minutes)
Set individual goals for super power transfer. (5 minutes)
