Evidence abounds for the effectiveness of personalized learning and coaching in adult learning and teacher education. A Flipped PD model shifts the focus away from a "sit and get" model of professional learning to an personalized, on-demand approach to knowledge acquisition that is complemented by coaching, teacher collaboration, feedback, and reflection to improve implementation and practice. Through the use of a Flipped PD models approach, converting substantial amounts of teacher education time into coaching and collaborative learning, teacher implementation of instructional strategies has the potential to be improved from 15% with traditional PD models to 85%. More research supporting such a shift can be found in ISTE Coaching Whitepaper: https://www.iste.org/resources/product?ID=2157.
