Purpose & objective

The main purpose of this session is for administrators to understand the importance of modeling the way for their teachers. Attendees will leave with practical ways to engage their teachers with valuable tools and a successful and proven model for modeling a growth mindset culture at their school using the power and collaborative tools provided by the G Suite for Education.

This highly successful professional development program for site administrators and district leadership helped schools in our district rapidly integrate the use of G Suite for Education throughout the organization.

Outline

The main purpose of this session is for administrators to understand the importance of modeling the way for their teachers. Attendees will leave with practical ways to engage their teachers with valuable tools, resources, and skills and a proven model for encouraging a growth mindset culture at their school using the
power and collaborative tools provided by the G Suite for Education. This highly engaging and interactive session will introduce several G Suite and other tech tools administrators can integrate into their practice to help encourage rapid integration and use of the G Suite for Education throughout their educational organization or school.

Dr. Michael Bloemsma, San Francisco Unified School District

Dr. Michael Bloemsma has over 19 years of experience in education and has worked as a classroom teacher, professor, and technology leader at the school, district, and county levels. Michael currently works for SFUSD in the Department of Technology as a Program Administrator of Technology & Innovation in support of building out our 1:1 Technology initiatives in the district. In this role Michael supports school site administrators and teachers to integrate technology and key pedagogies to help transform the learning experience for students and serve to help SFUSD achieve our Vision 2025 outcomes for students.
