This session will be packed with time savers, organizers and tools that will impress even the most techy students.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

Understanding the intricacies of Google Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Gmail is a powerful tool for educators in today's schools. However, there are many hidden gems for each Google app that makes them so much more valuable. Being able to take Google apps to the next level by utilizing the thousands of useful apps and add-ons is part of what makes a good educator a great educator.
In this session, I will share numerous "must-have" secrets from Google and third-party developers that have changed the face of Google products. Transform the way you teach, organize, email, and the way your students work with just a few simple clicks.
The goal of this session is for the participants to leave with a plethora of tools added to their toolbox to help them accomplish the daunting educational tasks they face each day.

Outline

* Introduction: Brief introduction of myself, educational background and training background and sharing of a dedicated website for presentation (5 minutes)
*Review of new Gmail updates - previously useful labs with education value now built-in to the new Gmail (15 minutes)
*Review of Extensions and Add-ons for Chrome, Docs, Sheets, Presentations, and Forms - over 20 must-have add-ons will be reviewed, along with their purpose and educational value (25 minutes)
*Review of other useful Google Sites and Apps (10 minutes)
*Conclusion and contact information (5 minutes)

Supporting research

Google is well known as one of the world's authority's in technology. The majority of users don't go a day without utilizing one or more of Google's many products. It is only natural that their products have iniltrated the educational environment, as well. Numerous articles exist to show the value of Google Apps for Education in the K-12 environment.
