Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this presentation is to offer educators various tools to put in their toolbox. The variety we offer range from teacher used to student used apps and extensions. Our presentation evolves since new apps and extensions are released on a regular basis. We visit the presentation and update it every 6 months or so.

We present a fast paced session that is called Get Your "Apps" in Gear. We piggy back back and forth on a 1 minute timer highlighting about 35 of the most useful apps and extensions being used in the classroom today. When the timer goes off, the person stops in mid sentence and the other person goes to the next slide. Five random people/groups in the audience are given a nerf ball that they are allowed to use if they want to hear more about any given app. They call our name when the timer goes off and tosses the speaker the ball. That allows the speaker to continue for another 60-90 seconds.

Supporting research

The chrome web store offers reviews of all the apps and extensions featured in our presentation. We pay close attention and pick only those ones that have proven positive outcomes.
