Google Sites allows students to CREATE digital portfolios showcasing their progress, to COLLABORATE with others to gain feedback and reflect on their work, and to COMMUNICATE beyond the walls of the classroom. Discover a variety of resources and examples that will help you use Sites in your classroom.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this presentation is to expose educators to a successful and engaging platform that enables students to exhibit their work while demonstrating and reflecting on their learning throughout the school year.

Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will know…
- How to use Google Sites to create digital student portfolios.
- How to use Google Sites to facilitate student collaboration.
- How to use Google Sites as a tool for communication to share with education stakeholders.
- How to use Google Sites to create a classroom website that promotes communication among students, parents, and colleagues.

This is a demonstration of a creative use of digital portfolios as a means to showcase student learning and provide a platform for student reflection. The daily use and integration of meaningful technology such as Google Sites gives students the opportunity to strengthen 21st-century skills that will support them beyond the classroom.
