Learn how to create an effective digital literacy plan for a typical K-12 district and identify the ingredients needed for an effective instructional technology plan that meets the needs of students, staff and your community.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this presentation is to help school district leaders and technology coaches find the right tools, metrics, and resources needed to create an effective technology integration plan for their school district and community. Together, we will examine what goes into creating one of the most important guiding documents a school district can have.

During our session, we will take a look at digital literacy from both the micro and macro levels and understand how to create a tech plan that involves input from all stakeholders.

An Introduction to Digital Literacy in 2019 (6 min)
How did example school districts create their Tech Integration Plan (14 min)
Understanding the steps needed to identify what digital literacy means to them. (10 min)
How to create and revise their plan (10 min)
How to implement an effective professional development/coaching program (10 min)
Adjusting the plan as the year progresses. (10 min)
