CK-12’s free, laptop and tablet-friendly collection of digital interactives consists of over 1,200 PLIXs (Play, Learn, Interact, eXplore) and 100 SIMs (simulations). Learn how these resources can help students develop skills important to science and math practices, connect ideas between STEM disciplines, and promote real-world applications.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

By the end of this session, participants will feel excited and equipped to use CK-12 PLIX Interactives and Simulations to engage students and enhance their learning experience.


We will begin by introducing tips to navigate through our PLIX Interactives and SIMs browse pages to find an engaging digital interactive for a particular course or level (5 min). Then, we will highlight the many embedded features and resources in each of the PLIX Interactives and SIMs that can be used when teaching (10 min). Lastly, will we share ideas for using the PLIX Interactives and SIMs as an instructional tool in class or at home, to differentiate instruction, and to promote students to make real-world connections (10 min).
