Learn about "tech buddies" and how this program can build technology skills in younger students and foster leadership skills in older students all while supporting instruction. You'll walk away with resources, examples and a guide for starting tech buddies in your school.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

Purpose: To provide resources to technology coaches, teachers, and administrators to help them influence change in their instructional environment

Objectives: Participants will be able to use the materials and examples given to them to design and implement the ideas presented in this session in their own school divisions. This session will feature the use of G Suite tools but is not limited to them.

Outline: This session will be nonlinear and delivered via a website. The presenter will engage the participants in conversation and then navigate to the section of the website that best fits their interest or question. The website will include highlights, step-by-step guides to implementation, and templates for instructional resources.

Chris Biagiarelli, Hanover County Public Schools

This is Chris’s 6th year as a technology coach. Prior to that, he taught 5th grade for 8 years. He has presented at ISTE 2015 in Philadelphia, ISTE 2017 in San Antonio, and ISTE 2018 in Chicago. Chris also serves on the board of the Greater Richmond Area Educational Technology Consortium (a Virginia Society for Technology in Education regional affiliate) which brings together technology coaches from school divisions around Richmond, Virginia. In his spare time, Chris enjoys all the great local restaurants and craft breweries Richmond has to offer and volunteering with his local chapter of Kiwanis International.
