In a fun, hands-on way, learn how to increase working power and efficiency when using Google Docs. See a demonstration of each Add-on's use, install/test them and practice strategies. Participants will be invited to explore more Add-ons in the Chrome Web Store and share their favorites in a collaborative Google Sheet.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this session is to help educators feel comfortable using Google Chome extension and therefore improve their ownership over technology use in the classroom and otherwise. Chrome extensions have the ability to help curate information, create interactive dynamic lessons, create screencasts, and increase efficiency. Some extensions have the ability to enhance student creativity, increase organization, and boost the overall productivity of both students and teachers. At the end of the session, participants will walk away with the ability to install and utilize various Chrome extensions with confidence. In addition, participants will feel confident exploring the Chrome Web store and finding new tools to power up their productivity. The audience will also be invited to share their favorite extensions crowdsource collaborative Google Sheet. The presentation and other resources will be provided for further independent learning.

In this fun, hands-on session participants will install and practicing using Chrome extensions, explore the Chrome Web Store, and share their favorite extensions in a crowdsourced collaborate Google Sheet.

Currently, she serves as the Academic Technology Coordinator at Holton-Arms School. She manages the 1:1 device programs in her division, and works with K-12 teachers and students to provide instructional technology professional development & support.
