Throughout the Personalized Learning Playboook workshop, participants will be able to generate a lesson plan to take back to their classrooms in one of the five formation plays. As a facilitator of the workshop, I will be showcasing how to generate the different lesson plans in all five formations. I believe that in order to deploy any shift in education, the participants need to see it in action first.
Background on why the Five Formations work. Over the last eight years, I have been working as a blended and personalized learning coach for schools all around the country. I have deployed the Five Formations from the Personalized Learning Playbook with school districts like Fulton County in Georgia, Akron STEM Middle School in Ohio, and with my own Blended Learning School, Learning Without Limits in Columbus, Ohio. If educators follow these Five Formation Game plans, then they will be able to deploy a successful Personalized Learning environment.

The Personalized Learning Playbook will be set up to mimic a personalized learning classroom. Participants will be expected to set learning targets, create a learning plan with amount of time spent at each learning target, spend time learning from each other and global connections, as well as setting up meeting times to meet with the learning facilitator of the workshop, Marcia Kish. The overview of the outline is just an example of what one participant might plan out for their 90 minute workshop.
