Watch, learn and listen to National Digital Principal of the Year (2018) Brian McCann, and filmmaker and teacherpreneur, Tommy Whalen, present ways to build culture, community and capacity within your school district through the creation of media. Snow day enthusiasts, film-advocates and future teacher-actors welcome!

Outline

The presentation will be media-interactive in the sense that both presenters will be presenting alongside their digital (green-screened-self). The content will range from student-centered film festivals, snow day videos, and asynchronous video PD for parents and teachers. The presentation will total 30 minutes - 5 for an introduction and then 4 - 5 minute segments on each of the instructional practices. The last 5 will be used for summation and empowering others to reflect.

Brian McCann, Joseph Case High School

Brian McCann is in his 15th year as principal of Joseph Case High School in Swansea, Mass., from which he graduated in 1980. He presented at ISTE's first Leadership Playground in San Antonio in 2017. Brian has contributed to Principal Leadership magazine prioritizing ed tech as a digital leader, as well as the educational leadership book The Principled Principal.
