Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

Tap into the award-winning power of TouchCast's easy-to-use free iPad app to create an engaging, interactive mobile recording studio with multi-cam control of extra iPads, green screen, embedded pop-up documents, and screencasting whiteboard. With a simple green screen, empower your students to share their learning live from within the structures of a cell to the surface of the moon or the depths of the ocean and other amazing locations. Ditch classroom newsletters and replace them with simple-to-create student-produced videos that build students' speaking and presentation skills and make learning fun. Highlight your school with monthly principal-created videos parents will watch!

Purpose: This session will provide an overview of how to use TouchCast to create amazing interactive videos that allow your audiences to be actively engaged in the viewing process.

Objectives: Participants will get a hands-on guided tour of the TouchCast interface and vApps. Participants will have hands-on time to create dynamic video newscasts that include interactive images and documents that can be accessed onscreen in the video itself. Participants will explore using the green screen feature and provided green screens to immerse themselves in creative locations, time periods, and other settings related to common academic subjects. Participants will add their video to their channel and will have time to explore other educational channels and selected student classroom videos that are available in the TouchCast educational channels.

Participants will leave session knowing how to use TouchCast app and all of the features (green screen, video, combining videos, adding pop up documents/links/resources directly to the video (Vapps) that will appear onscreen during video, having set up account and online channel, and with a video created during session and uploaded to their channel and ready for sharing.
Participants will also explore copyright-friendly sources of background images and learning how to successfully green screen themselves into amazing location or content image.
Participants will have set of example videos showing student, teacher, and administrator use of TouchCast to review later and use with staff or students as examples.
