Purpose is to introduce attendees to the Merge Cube which is a cube that you can layer Augmented Reality Holographs on.
The cube is only $7 and landed in thousands of classrooms when WalMart sold them for $1
This happened about 18 months ago (basing off of time workshop will happen) and since then Merge has moved a considerable amount of its focus to education.
New apps are being released at a steady stream designed for the classroom and on top of that, educators are doing some awesome things with it. Merge even has been releasing curriculum guides and lesson plans.
My tweet helped spark "Merge Cube Madness" and thanks to that I have kept in close contact with Merge who keeps filling me in with the cool and new things going on with the Merge Cube.
It's a blast to share all of that with educators.
