The purpose of this session is to discuss the design, implementation and facilitation of online professional development courses utilizing G Suite applications. Participants will be able to design self guided-resources using Google Docs, Slides, and Drawings. Through Google Classroom, participants will be shown how to lead and facilitate online collaboration as well as analyze and evaluate course created content. Lastly, presenters will share strategies to evaluate success and continuously improve the online learning experience.
After a brief introduction (5 minutes) the presenters will discuss how designing virtual professional learning courses help to break through the limitations of in-person workshops. The presenters will share our story of designing, implementing and facilitating online learning in our district. Then we will describe and share examples of how you can develop your own online courses from the ground up using Google Applications (40 minutes). We will focus on designing, developing and implementing professional learning that meets the needs of adult learners in a virtual environment. After, the presenters will provide resources and an eBook to help you create your own online courses through free G Suite applications (15 minutes).
