Join Illinois educators who have participated in an ISTE Certification cohort to learn about utilizing the ISTE Student/Educator standards in their roles. We will answer questions about participating in a cohort, discuss about integration into schools, and the exciting IDEA's for how districts are improving from ISTE Standards integration.

Purpose & objective

The purpose and objective of our session is to give a greater understanding of what the ISTE Certification cohort experience is as a learner as well as share ideas and stories about how educators are taking what they learned and integrate it into their districts.

ISTE Certified

Amber Heffner is the Executive Director of Illinois Digital Educators Alliance (IDEA). IDEA is the Illinois affiliate of ISTE. Amber has a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Science in Counseling and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and is an ISTE Certified Educator. Her background as a coach, teacher, counselor, and a school administrator created experiences from which she draws from in her role today. Amber strives to empower educators with support, valuable professional development, resources and networking opportunities that support their personal growth to be the best they can be for students.
