In this hand on Session, participants will learn about the merge products: cube, goggles, and CoSpaces EDU. We will also explore the Qlone App and look at the potential it has both by itself and also when paired with the Merge products. Participants will see lessons already created using the merge products, and they will be able to create their own lessons with the merge products to be able to use in their classrooms right away.
Participants will learn about different apps for the merge cube and how each app can be integrated into the educational setting. Participants will walk away from this session with lessons they have created to use in their classroom with the app of their choosing.
Participants will see the Qlone app and learn about 3D scanning. I will show them how to take their 3D scan and upload it, so they will be able to view it on their merge cube.
Participants will learn the benefits of the merge goggles, and how they can easily integrate Google Tour Creator, Google Expeditions, and the Merge Goggles. Participants will see how easy it is to take their class on virtual field trips and how the students can lead and teach in the classroom setting. Participants will create their own Tour through Google Expeditions that can be used with their class.
Participants will learn how to operate CoSpaces EDU. They will see different ideas for “spaces”, and they will learn how to create their own space for their class and how to code it. They will have the knowledge to use these in their classroom and go back and teach it to their students.
In this session, I will give a brief overview of the products we will be using and looking at. After that, we will dive right into creating lessons to be used in the classroom for each of the products.
10 minute- overview
20 minutes- analyze merge cube apps and create a lesson centered around the app of your choosing to use in your classroom with your students.
30 minutes- Create a virtual tour through Google and use Google Expeditions to view it through the Merge Goggles.
30 minutes- Create a "space" on CoSpaces Edu making sure to include coding.
I will only lecture for the first 10 minutes, for the rest of the time we will be collaborating on product/lesson creation. The participants can group up by subject and grade level or work independently or in another group of their choosing to collaborate and create. I will walk around and help facilitate their creation through each of the products while also bringing around the products for them to get a hands on view of each.

AR/VR Experiences in the classroom using the Merge Cube:
I will present the concept of coding as well as AR and VR experiences inside the classroom for the students.
I have been an educator for 9 years. I have worked in Title 1 Reading, and I now work in 6th grade Language Arts. I love technology and finding ways to incorporate it into my lessons.
