New Orleans is known for its centuries of stories, celebrations and one-of-a-kind culture, making it the perfect canvas for the colorful and rich learning at the ISTE Creative Constructor Lab (CCL).
CCL 2019 will be held at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) — a regional, preprofessional arts training center that offers intensive instruction from culinary and dance to filmmaking and writing. NOCCA is located just outside the French Quarter and adjacent to the Mississippi River at 2800 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LA 70117. Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral are a few attractions within a mile radius of the venue.
NOCCA’s students audition to either become full-day high school students in the academic studio program or to take part in a half-day arts discipline program. All students who are accepted into the program attend NOCCA tuition-free, and these scholarships are supported by venue rental fees. ISTE is pleased to support these students’ tuition and financial aid through the use of the facility for CCL weekend. We’re excited to say that a number of NOCCA teachers will be participating with us at the event!
The vibrant city of New Orleans is full of never-ending experiences and unique things to do, see and eat. Visit the official tourism website for more and plan your trip! The Krewe of Boo Halloween parade and Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival are both happening during the weekend of CCL. Attendees are encouraged to participate in these events to get a true flavor of the city.
