Volunteers are our secret sauce!

ISTE greatly values and appreciates the many volunteers that make the conference a huge success! We (literally) couldn’t do it without you.

If you’re pondering jumping in to help, here’s what you need to know:

  • Connections abound. Volunteering makes you part of a special community that drives the conference’s success.
  • Skill-building happens. Along the way, you’ll learn a new skill or two that you can bring back to your organization or use to enhance your resume.
  • Find your BFF. We see it every year. Volunteers make connections to other educators that reach well beyond their shifts and into their lives beyond the ISTE conference.
  • Free stuff. Volunteers get exclusive gratis ISTE gear!

Getting on board is easy! And newbies are welcome; you don’t have to be a seasoned veteran to help out. You’re eligible if:

  • You’re registered. Signing up for ISTE20 is step one!
  • You’re flexible. If you can flex your schedule and be available at various times during conference, you’re good to go!
  • You’re reliable. Report for duty on time and ready to go!
  • You’re perky. We’re looking for folks with a positive, helpful, friendly disposition.

Opportunities

Give a few hours

Shorter volunteer shifts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing you to schedule 1-3 hour shifts based on your availability and preferences. These event support positions are perfect for attendees who have busy schedules at the conference or are new to ISTE. The job will be simple enough for you to learn in five minutes. Registration refunds are not available for this program and you will automatically have access to this program without completing an application. If this is you, watch your email for our shift scheduling announcement.

Apply to be a Volunteer Champion

Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the ISTE Conference. Volunteer Champions will complete four-hour shifts on two days or an eight-hour shift on one day of the conference. Volunteer Champions need to complete each shift in order to receive a registration fee refund. We regret that we may not be able to utilize every applicant. If you are not accepted as a Volunteer Champion, you will be able to help us with one of our shorter shifts as outlined above.

Volunteer Champions will not only guide attendees as they navigate the conference, but they also act as a resource to fellow volunteers.
