The purpose of this poster presentation is to inspire K12 educators to connect to classrooms around the world. This poster session will discuss the many obstacles the presenter overcame while living in Haiti. The base and inspiration for this poster presentation will come from the inspiring stories of Haitian educators who courageously implemented active learning techniques into their K12 classrooms in order to promote sustainability. This presentation will offer before and after stories of Haitian educators who implemented active learning techniques. The presenter holds a doctorate in the field of instructional design and technology and wrote her dissertation on active learning. The presenter also currently lives in Haiti working one on one with these educators.
My poster session will include my accidental journey story as well as active learning techniques used with Haitian teachers.

Dr. Holland is passionate about empowering educators through professional development, one on one coaching, and innovative lesson design. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Instructional Design and Technology with extensive research in active learning environments. She has spent years empowering educators and championing student-centered classrooms. She is a Google Certified Trainer and Innovator and an eLearning collegiate professor. Through her work with BreakFree Education and her nonprofit, Go Teach Be Love, Dr. Holland is empowering local educators in under-resourced areas to foster innovative and sustainable educational environments.
