Use the power of Adobe Spark apps to create stunning and effective images, web pages and videos to communicate with students, staff and community. You will leave the session having created a web page that includes your own videos and graphics, all built with Adobe Spark apps.

The purpose of this presentation is to share with teachers how they can quickly create a story using the technology tool, Adobe Spark. At the end of the PD session, the participant will be able to:
• Create a video of 1 minute or less using template in Adobe Spark Video
• Create a graphic using an image of their own and Adobe Spark Post
• Create a short web page using Adobe Spark Page
The audience will use their devices to either take photographs and/or search for their own images on their devices or cloud service.
Session Opening (5 minutes): Introduction and share with learners backchannel for the session to refer to questions (Todaysmeet.com or another tool)
Build Relevance (10 minutes): Use mentimeter.com to ask learners
• What are their favorite stories?
• What attributes made these stories compelling?
• What is your goal with learning Adobe Spark?
Learn It (25 minutes): Demonstrate how to create content for building a story using the Adobe Spark apps. Begins with creating images, then video, then a web page to put the story together.
Do It (35 minutes): Learners will spend time creating their own content (graphics, video, and web page) to tell their story.
Share It (15 minutes): Participants will post their finished stories (weblinks) on a Padlet. Will ask for volunteers to share their story with the group.
Closing (5 minutes): Review learning objectives and ask participants to share their experience with the session using mentimeter.com for feedback tool.

Claudio Zavala Jr. is a digital designer for the Burleson Independent School District in Texas.. He’s passionate about fostering creativity in the classroom and using digital tools to engage learners. He also enjoys helping individuals, entrepreneurs and small-business owners create their designs and build their brands. Zavala has presented at a number of national and regional conferences, including the ISTE Conference & Expo, SXSWEdu, the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) and the TCEA Convention & Exposition, and his work has been featured in Toggle and EdTech Magazine. He’s also experienced in social media management, something he learned to do as part of I Am Claudius, his digital media consulting company. An Adobe Education Leader, Adobe Creative Educator, Certified Alpha Squirrel, Flipgrid Ambassador and Participate Community Advisor, Zavala enjoys photography and videography, and growing his YouTube channel. He’s also a professional musician, master woodworker and graphic designer.
