Native to Flipgrid, Minecraft Education Edition, Word, OneNote, and various other tools, Immersive Reader is mainstream, non-stigmatizing, and free!

Purpose & objective

Purpose:
Students enter the classroom with a wide range of learning styles, experiences, and abilities, but ALL students deserve tools that will help them reach their fullest potential and love learning. Microsoft provides free tools for meeting the needs of all types of learners that are built right into Office 365 and Windows 10, through Immersive Reader, with features such as read aloud, real-time translation, syllabification, focus mode, parts-of-speech mode, picture dictionary, and much more. The purpose of the poster session is to help teachers and education support staff discover the ways Immersive Reader will benefit ALL students in the classroom—and in life—urging students to want to learn more.

Objectives and Evidence of Success:
-Participants will explore Immersive Reader through a hands-on trial through Microsoft's Learning Tools website ( https://www.onenote.com/learningtools), OneNote, or Flipgrid.
-Participants will be able to identify various tools that offer Immersive Reader native to the platform/tool.
-Participants will be able to identify Immersive Reader features and their proven benefits.
-Participants will be able to identify ways in which Immersive Reader will support student success.

A OneNote notebook comprised of the poster session materials and related links, resources, and guides to getting started with Immersive Reader and using it in the classroom will be provided to all participants. Also,the participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about Immersive Reader and receive immediate demonstrations to solidify their understanding of the capabilities of the tool.
