This session will detail how Microsoft Teams integration can foster effective communication and collaboration in the classroom, around the school and across the district. We will share ways Class, PLC and Staff Teams are used in Onslow County Schools, including facilitating classroom instruction, professional development and professional learning communities.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this session is to demonstrate and share how Microsoft Teams can be used to improve communication and collaboration at the district, school and classroom level. Participants will learn ways Class Teams can redefine the traditional idea of a learning management system and become the digital hub of a blended learning classroom. Participants will understand how Teams can transform traditional teaching practices and allow teachers to utilize the Teams platform and integrated apps to open opportunities for students to communicate, collaborate, create and think critically. Participants will learn tips for how PLC and Staff Teams can streamline communication and foster spaces for teachers within a school and across a district to work together to share best practices, organize professional development activities, and ask and answer questions. The Digital Transformation blog and podcast resource being shared chronicles strategies for implementation, usage tips and success stories from actual classrooms and schools utilizing Microsoft Teams.
