This session, hosted by the HyperDoc Girls, is an introduction to the concept of HyperDocs -- creative, digital lessons that you can create using Google Apps for highly engaged lessons. Participants will walk away inspired and ready to implement digital lessons they can use right away!

Purpose & objective

Have you heard about HyperDocs and wondered what all the hype is about? This session is an introduction to the concept of HyperDocs: creative, digital lessons that you can create using Google Apps for highly engaged lessons. HyperDocs will challenge your thinking about powerful ways to deliver content, how to sincerely meet the needs of all learners, and bring new energy to the work you do in the classroom. During this session, we will: Define a HyperDoc, Explain theory and pedagogy behind digital lesson design, Provide templates to copy and personalize, Explore HyperDoc examples and various packaging options, Discuss blended learning options and models for implementation. Participants will be given multiple lessons, tutorials, and resources to get started right away with HyperDocs in their classroom. And finally, you will get a chance to interact with the creators of HyperDocs to geek out on lesson design together.

Kelly Hilton (@kellyihilton) is an educator, speaker, and author. She is the co-founder of HyperDocs and Teachers Give Teachers and she is also the co-author of The HyperDoc Handbook. Kelly served as a classroom teacher for 15 years before shifting into instructional leadership positions such as instructional coach and vice-principal. She is currently the TK-12 professional development specialist for the Pleasanton Unified School District located in California. She holds a master's in educational leadership with an emphasis on social justice and she is passionate about creating inclusive classrooms and educational communities for students and adults!
