This session is an overview of best practices for how to deliver quality educational experiences over video conferencing (VC) from planning to delivery. The model employed is called TITAC:
TITAC Method for IVC Teaching:
Teacher - The DL teacher is effective and highly engaging.
Interaction - Meaningful interaction is central to lesson design.
Technology - The technology is driven by learning goals and enhances the learning experience.
Aesthetics - The aesthetics of the lesson engage the learners.
Collaboration - Open communication facilitates collaboration between all stakeholders.
Attendees will share favorite blended learning tech tools and resources and consider how virtual classroom management changes as the age and number of participants changes. Attendees will participate in a live demonstration of our IVC model which is equally effective with small and large groups.
The evidence for success of this model is contained quantitatively in the student success in city language competitions and in Tsai Hsing families' enduring demand for the program. Qualitatively the success is seen in exemplary work submitted to international collaborations such as Global Scholars.
