Purpose & objective

For distance or face-to-face learning to be effective, teachers must foster student empowerment through Social-Emotional Learning in order to increase efficacy and increase student outcomes. This session features two veteran educators with 40-plus years of education who have been training educators across the country and around the world for more than a decade. Teachers will leave this session with new ideas to integrate and weave Social-Emotional Learning into their daily lessons.

Tammy Brecht Dunbar, M.Ed., S.T.E.M. teaches 5th grade in Manteca (CA) and is a 2019 Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellow. She was NCCE 2021's closing keynote, 2016 California Woman of the Year, Assembly District 12, won the 2018 ISTE Literacy PLN Award for #CultivateWorldLiteracy & was a featured speaker on Microsoft’s Fall 2017 Hack the Classroom broadcast worldwide.
