Using UBTECH’s AI Foundations curriculum as an example, we’ll touch on how to blend computer science and literacy by exploring activities to teach concepts of machine learning, natural language processing and AI using different elements of literacy such as storytelling, emotion and language.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

Participants will learn and explore how to integrate AI education into core classrooms while getting hands on experience with AI focused activities that explore fundamental literacy goals. Through active exploration and hands-on activities, participants will experience AI integration first hand by completing activities of a formulated K12 AI Foundations curriculum.

Outline

The presentation will cover three separate activities connecting AI concepts to literacy. Each activity will be touched upon for approximately seven minutes. The presentation will seamlessly transition between activities. Featured activities will be unplugged and no devices are needed.
