Nearpod is constantly adding new activities, lessons, and content, but how can you possibly keep up? This session will contain all of the latest additions to Nearpod, plus tips and tricks for those wishing to learn more about what can be done within the Nearpod platform. We will also be able to introduce the attendees to upcoming features! Included in the session will be an introduction to Time to Climb, integrations with other leading technology tools, how to use the advanced settings, new lessons in the Nearpod Lesson Library, unique ways teachers are using Nearpod, and much more!
The presentation will be done in Nearpod so that the audience can have a hands-on experience with the content.
All information provided in the presentation will be available on smore.com/jkcev. This website is kept up-to-date and includes handouts, links to webinars, etc.
Our goal is to have attendees leave the session with new ideas on how to use Nearpod in their classroom and know how to use the newest Nearpod features.
Introduction and overview of Nearpod (5 minutes) Participants will experience a Nearpod Presentation from the point of view of a student. The presentation will begin with a Collaborate Board (part of Nearpod) that allows the attendees to share their favorite Nearpod tip and/or trick. The presenter will include in the presentation the new features of Nearpod as well as examples of how educators have creatively used the various activities to engage and formally assess students. (30 minutes) The presenters will share their website (smore.com/jkcev) which includes all of the new features, tips and tricks, handouts, and more. (20 minutes) Closing and ISTE evaluation. (5 minutes)

Janet is an educational technology consultant with experience as a classroom teacher, instructional technology coordinator, and adjunct professor. Her passion for assisting educators learn new strategies for successfully integrating technology into their curriculum has provided her with many opportunities to present at national, state, and local conferences and in school districts throughout the United States. She has co-authored four books on technology integration and professional development. Janet served in various positions for the TCEA Board of Directors and was awarded ISTE’s Making It Happen award given to leaders in educational technology.
