Through reflection, modeling, and sharing - learn how we inspired and coached new educators (first to third-year teachers) in our district to transform their lessons in the new digital age. To reach each and every new educator, we implemented principles of adult learning and professional development.

In their first few years of teaching, new educators can often be overwhelmed with the workload required from them. We want to inspire educators with educational technology, not burden them. To do this, we created and modeled many virtual experiences. This included designing an engaging virtual learning environment with the district's learning management system (Schoology), having them escape through a virtual breakout room, and creating deliverables with Google apps, extensions, and tools. We also utilized new educator's enthusiasm and perspectives by giving them opportunities to share their virtual learning implementations. While many new educators grew up proficient with technology, we encouraged new educators to use and share digital tools that transform student learning. Understanding that two people can walk out of the same PD sessions with two very different opinions of the effectiveness of the session, we also implemented the principles of adult learning and professional development. Thus, reaching each and every new educator.
