Session description
Purpose & objective
Purpose: This session shows how teachers can provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology. For teachers to be fair with their grading practices, we will also look and evaluate various rubrics to determine what should be the criteria.
Outline
1. Opening (5 min) - sample assessment: Create your own audio narration to explain the video. (Slides 5&6)
2. How to tips (10 min) - Tech tools to create the video and for students to use audio narration & video editing tricks (Slides 7-10)
3. Exploration (10 min) - Listen to student samples; evaluate student samples with various rubrics (including using AI to help create rubrics) -- share ideas with partners (Slides 11-18)
4. Closing (5 min) - Lessons learned and other assessment ideas (Slide 19-20)
