Session description

Minecraft: Education is a fantastic tool to get kids thinking, communicating, and strategizing! Come and learn some ways Minecraft: Education can build great problem-solvers and critical thinkers while they are creating, competing, and having fun!

Purpose & objective

This session is designed to give attendees insight into Minecraft: Education. There are still many misconceptions of the Minecraft platform, and many educators see it as something extra, or something they know very little about. By exposing participants to different ways that Minecraft: Education can be utilized in the classroom, they will begin to see the power that this learning tool has to offer both students and teachers.

Attendees will have time to work and experience Minecraft: Education first-hand. This time will allow the presenters to facilitate, answer questions, and model particular skills that will enhance the participant's experience.

Every attendee will leave with a new world creation and a better understanding of how Minecraft: Education can be utilized in the classroom.

3. A digital document will be dispersed, that will contain step-by-step instructions and many links to YouTube videos created by the presenter that will serve as tutorials. These tutorials can be accessed over and over, even after the session is complete.
4. This session is completely hands-on, where participants will work on their projects independently, under the facilitation and guidance of the presenters.
