Purpose & objective

The purpose of this presentation is to educate participants on the critical role of adult education programs and provide strategies for collaborating to support adult learners and the whole learner. From birth to adulthood. The objectives are for participants to:

- Gain an understanding of key services and offerings of adult education centers, including programs offered like high school equivalency, workforce training, digital literacy skills, and more.
- Learn innovative models and best practices from California and Texas for partnering with adult education leaders.
- Identify opportunities in participant local communities to refer families to and collaborate with adult education programs.
- Make connections with adult education providers in their state/region to start building partnerships.

This addresses the challenge that many adult learners lack access to academic and workforce skills training. We will highlight technology interventions used in adult programs, like digital literacy initiatives. Participants will come away with models and strategies to support equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities.
