Participants will be able to use free AI tools to modify existing lesson plans and materials to accommodate learner variation in the domains of engagement, representation, and action & expression.
Participants will collaborate during the session to reflect on the modifications they prompted AI to make and how slight differences in prompts impacted the modifications.
Participants will leave the session with a toolkit of digital resources to help them modify their existing lesson plans and materials for their learners as well as conversation starters to share resources with peers or other educators in their school/district.
Opening activity (5 minutes) - interactive poll about AI and a quick write on the shared collaborative documents.
Teach and explore (10 minutes) - introduction to the AI tools used in the session, practice generating prompts.
Scenario 1 - engagement (10 minutes) - looking at the why of learning and modifying procedures, goals, and collaboration.
Scenario 2 - representation (10 minutes) - looking at the content and modifying to support recognition.
Scenario 3 - action & expression (10 minutes) - looking at how students learn and show knowledge.
Collaboration and takeaways (10 minutes) - reflect on your experience and share with others your takeaways. Explore digital toolkit resources and plan for implementation.
