Session description

Powerpoint is the premiere presentation tool, but it can also be used as a learning tool in the classroom. Participants will learn how to create collaborative, drop-and-drag activities, stand-alone presentations and scaffolding activities. Student engagement will increase with this use of PowerPoint.

Purpose & objective

The workshop will demonstrate the versatility of PowerPoint as a tool beyond traditional presentations. Participants will learn how PowerPoint can be harnessed for collaborative activities, stand-alone reviews, and presentations with scaffolding, enriching their teaching toolkit. They will use their own devices to practice making each of these activities.

Each example will take less than ten minutes to demonstrate. The actual creation of these activities can be done in 45 minutes, but could also be extended with personalized help if there is time.
