Jillian Johnson is a STEM education professional in Orlando, Florida with a passion for inspiring innovation and STEM confidence within education. She earned her master's degree in instructional design and educational technology from the University of Central Florida in 2020. Jillian was named Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator 2022 and co-authored a peer-reviewed journal article published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has participated in global webinars, expert panels, and educational podcasts with companies such as Tech & Learning, LEGO Education, Curriculum Associates, and Symbaloo.
Blair Salmons is a certified Instructional Coach in Orlando, Florida with a passion for inspiring and supporting educators to be and do more than what they believe they are capable of. Blair has a Master of Arts in Intercultural Communication received his instructional coach certification through the Lastinger Institute from the University of FLorida, and is currently pursuing a Master's in Education Leadership. He is currently supporting educators in his local school community, but also provided professional development for current and aspiring coaches throughout the school district.
Session description
In this session, participants will learn and explore various digital tools to support and advance a school-wide STEM integration for elementary schools. Attendees will leave this session equipped with examples and resources to use for schools, district leaders, and classroom teachers.
Purpose & objective
The purpose of this presentation is to introduce participants to a simple web-based bookmarking platform (Symbaloo) that organizes digital tools and resources that support the development of a school-wide STEM initiative.
Participants will walk away with at least one Symbaloo webmix created and ready for implementation after the conference and the tools to utilize Symbaloo as a valuable STEM integration organizer.
