Session description
Purpose & objective
Purpose: The purpose of this session is to show new Google tools to participants and show them how to use the tools they already use in a more productive manner. The audience gets to tell me what they are interested in learning using a Google Form at the beginning so the entire session is geared to them (personalized learning). It is also to answer questions from participants about the functionality of Google tools and the newest updates...those burning questions that they always wanted answered are welcomed here! Audience members also participate in answering each other's questions as well.
It is a hit every year because the content is never the same because the audience chooses what we cover! And, even if the same tool is chosen from one year to the next, changes and updates to the tools still ensure the content is refreshed.
Objectives:
1. Participants will evaluate how to use Google AI tools, Chrome, Drive, Templates, Keep, Calendar, Extensions, Slides, Sheets, Classroom, Forms, Explore Buttons, Add-ons (and more they can choose from) in more productive and innovative ways.
2. Participants will be able to redeliver this content to other teachers and students to help them be more productive while they are learning and teaching. This will allow them to work smarter, not harder!
Evidence of Success:
--Evaluation of session
--Participant participation
--Participants using skills at their campuses with students and co-workers
Outline
Content and activities:
-Audience will work along with the presenter while skills are being presented
-Audience is encouraged to ask questions (it is very interactive from the content to the delivery)
-Audience will participate in a deep dive connecting how these skills can be used in the classroom and with co-workers so they not only know the skills but know how they want to individually use it
Outline:
This session is audience led. They fill out a Form and choose what topics and skills they want covered in the class. Therefore, every time I teach the class, it is different and audience driven. That is why the outline cannot be more specific.
Time: 60 minute session (can be modified for 90 minute session if needed)
5 minutes: Introduction/Fill out Form
50 minutes: Interactive teaching of skills, participants ask questions
5 minutes: Closing and evaluation
Process:
-Throughout the session, the audience will be participating and will be encouraged to ask and answer questions as well as giving their own tips as well.
