Outline
Process: The audience of coaches and coordinators will engage in whole group, small group, and individualized activities to mimic the practices for the professionals they supervise and coach in inclusive classrooms.
Content & Engagement-Time-Process:
A. Let's Figure This Out! Problem-based question is resolved in small groups to define the characteristics of inclusion coaching and collaboration. (10 mins.)
B. What to Say, Do & Not Do! inclusion coaching language and differentiated supports are outlined and discussed face-face, whole group, online posts, curriculum graphic organizers, A-Z listing. (10 mins.)
C. Moving and Grooving to the Learning. Choice boards and People Search investigate exceptionalities, low-high tech literacy and mathematics and behavioral connections and evidence-based practices; VAKT, PBIS, UDL, UbD, DI. Online resources for differentiation, communication, and collaboration are shared in whole session and with focus groups. (15 mins.)
D. Step Up to the Plate: How coaches invite teams to score wins with handy strategies for learners with and without IEPs to ensure that students receive their education in an environment that focuses on collaborative planning, data, learning targets, and accountability. (15 mins.)
E. Closing activities that leverage collaboration, equity and diversity in PK-12 classrooms to invite inquiry with academic and behavioral/emotional supports for students, families, and professionals. (10 mins.)
