Session description
Embark on an educational scavenger hunt along the San Antonio Riverwalk! Guided by Google Maps, you will discover landmarks, solve clues, and experience the local environment, all while learning about the culture and history of the area. Join us to explore how to engage students with Google Maps scavenger hunts!
This tour will be meeting at The Grotto of the Riverwalk at 8:30am.
Outline
Kick off this year's conference with GEG Utah! To start, we'll meet you at The Grotto (look for the giant hats). From there, you will embark on our digital scavenger hunt: Guided by Google Maps, your mission is to visit each of 15 different locations on the Riverwalk. At each location, you will learn about its historical/cultural signficance, and scour the area for a CLUE. Enter the clue on our Get Out With Google site. Get it right? Move on to the next clue! Wrong? Keep searching! Bonus points if you spot our GEG leaders along the way- and they might even have a prize for you!
This trip/tour is self-paced! We'll give you everything you need at the meeting start time, then it's up to you to GET OUT with Google. See you on the Riverwalk!
