Session description
Outline
As more children engage with AI tools, there is a growing opportunity to prepare them for the future. However, the question of when and how to introduce AI education can be complex. By carefully considering the developmental needs of children and balancing technical and ethical considerations, we can find the best approach to help children become informed, engaged, and empowered users of AI technology.
In this session, the presenter is going to briefly introduce the topic of AI in education. Then, we will discuss how to teach AI to children and look at important research on student use of technology and IA, and finally, the presenter will share practical activities to introduce children to AI tools in a safe way. Participants will then be invited to analyze the activities proposed and also come up with new ideas to be implemented in their own contexts.
