Session description
The world of science employs the latest and greatest technologies every day. Your science class should, too. Expose students to various methods of using the tools of their future by incorporating them into your lessons. AR, VR, simulations, data collection, analysis, communication, collaboration, and modeling tools will be explored.
Outline
Introduce participants to a simple task and three different tools that they can use to accomplish the task.
Provide 5 minutes to complete the task using the tool of their choice
Discuss outcomes
Share 5-10 science tasks and 2-3 tools that can be used to accomplish the task.
Have participants discuss pros and cons of letting students choose methodology/tools.
Report back
Discuss importance of students learning how to vet tools
Share additional examples
Make connections to UDL and meeting the needs of all students.
