Applying the Implementing for Sustainability Framework: Lessons for Sustained District Improvement Initiatives

School districts are constantly implementing improvement initiatives — but decades of research catalogue that such efforts rarely have staying power. A recently-released report published by The Wallace Foundation outlines the Implementing for Sustainability Framework and illustrates this framework through four case districts’ principal pipelines. This session will briefly overview the framework before sharing lessons for applying the framework drawn from common policies and practices in the four case districts. While we illustrate the framework using principal pipelines, the framework and conclusions are relevant across district improvement initiatives.
